dina holder was convicted of throwing and kicking a 5-year- old autistic child in 2010. after the incident was reported, the district moved her to another school. earlier this month the district settled with the family of the victim for nearly a million dollars and removed holder from her teaching position. last night, parents asked the board why it took so long to get holder away from students. >> i don't care what's written down in a procedures manual or anything like that. i think that somebody should have tobacco a stand and said we need to get her away from kids. >> district officials say its difficult to fire tenured teachers. as part of the settlement, holder is on paid administrative leave and will resign at the end of the school year. since holder was only charged with a misdemeanor, she can still teach if another district hires her. >>> 5:05 now. a man was hit by three cars while trying to cross an on- ramp in oakland. it happened last night on the 17th street on-ramp to westbound interstate 980. chp says two drivers left the scene but one driver is cooperating
